Meet the Choreographer Behind Rick Owens’ Shocking Step Show

Just in case you haven’t checked your Twitter feed or
ELLE.com’s breaking Paris Fashion Week coverage, here’s the big news from the City of Light: Rick Owens broke the fashion mold yesterday by taking over the Palais Omnisports de Paris Bercy—a multi-level arena (complete with indoor skating rink!)—for his spring 2014 show. But it wasn’t an ordinary catwalk: The French provocateur sent a team of American step dancers down his runway. Many were plus-sized, most were women of color, and all were incredible performers who not only wore Owens’ latest collection, but they also thrashed, stomped, and electrified in it.
